While standing guard duty in front of the White House, a Marine noticed an old man slowly walking toward him.
"Yes, Sir. What can I do for you?", the Marine asked.
"I am here to see President Kerry", the old man replied.
"Sir, Mr. Kerry is not the President and does not reside here."
The old man thanked him and ambled off.
The next day, the Marine saw the same old man walking towards him again.
"Yes Sir", the Marine said warily.
"I am here to see President Kerry"
"Sir, as I told you yesterday, Mr. Kerry is not the President and does not reside here".
The old man once again thanked him and walked away.
The next day the Marine guard spotted the same man again slowly walking towards him. This time, somewhat agitated, he said:
"Sir, before you say anything, let me say that Mr. Kerry is not the President and does not reside here."
"Yes, I know that, son", the old man said, "I just like hearing those words"
The Marine snapped to attention and saluted the old man.
"Yes sir. See you tomorrow, SIR!"
