Hello Panzer friends,
For a long time I have been working with a friend who is a metal specialist on a 1/10 scale Tiger I tank.
I live in the center of Paris, an apartment on the 5th floor fortunately with elevator.
Above all, I would like to thank the RC Panzer website and all its contributors for the good reports that helped me and made me have a pleasant time. Thanks also to Robert, it was not easy to write the message on the mail RC Panzer.
The body of my model comes from Stehr (it was the occasion of good trips to Munich) and the rest is made on my drawings by my friend turner-miller. There are of course some 3D resin parts.
I reproduce the inside of the turret. My difficulty is to accommodate the Beier module and the battery. I hope to be able to attach some photos.
Agree with Fréderick -I like his reports- there are fewer panzers resembling the Tamiya of our adolescence.
N.B. I hope my \\\'google translate\\\' text is understandable

Hi,
nice to meet you, your Tiger looks so far so good
Do you have a special color scheme in mind, or do you want to look it fresh from the manufacturing plant?
The inside of the turret, wow thats something I am interested in! How do you realize the gun movement or is it static?
Best regards,
Falk -- Gruß

Hello from Germany,
please let us know your name. I think I speak in the majority of the members of this forum: please provide more pictures and details about your Tiger I built. We are interessted in all the details about how modelers created their models and what kind of experience their made.

Hallo
Thank you for the nice messages. A few years ago after work I was so happy to see the reports that encouraged me (I remember -among others- a superb Tiger made by a modeler near Aachen), that I find it normal to send photos.
In the early 1970s, I built a Tamiya Tiger tank with the interior (1/15). It was made of plastic and I always dreamed of having one made of metal.
A meeting at the Saumur tank museum allowed me to get the project off the ground. The modeler had a passion for metalworking and turned the turret into a steel cylinder for me. Luckily, he was in retreat near Vimoutiers in Normandy and was able to take measurements on the real Tiger who remained in this small town.
Alas, this gentleman has died. I have gathered a large amount of documentation with the essentials: the remarkable site of David Byrden, and especially the book by Jenz and Doyle whose drawings are accurate and allow you to work.
I found another turner-miller who is passionate about the work and who created parts very precisely from my drawings: roof of the turret; interior of the turret, etc.The tank is almost finished in terms of metal parts.
The big difficulty is to fit the electronics, the battery, into the available space with the interior details. To respond to Spz.Marder and Panzerpabst, while reproducing the breech, I planned the recoil of the barrel (35mm, but the system must be optimized) and the flash. Due to lack of space, there is no elevation of the barrel.
The tank is number 6 of the 506 and its paintwork is Dunkelgeb with anti-rust red stripes.
Sorry, I can only attach one photo at a time...

Sorry for the previous duplicate text.
The turret is mounted on a crown with ball bearings like the original, it rotates 360° in 1 minute.
The training is done by the turret platform.
My choice fell on a model in the middle. Fortunately, I was able to go to Saumur with exceptional authorization to enter the tank for measurements (now it\\\'s impossible, everyone is afraid of a lawsuit in the event of injuries...and the tank is dismantled for restoration).
The big job was to take existing parts to bring them to the exact measurement (for example the hull roof from 4 mm to 2.5 mm) and to cut the turret roof to reproduce the interior and exterior. The beautiful work of the turner-miller to cut commander\\\'s cuppola with periscopes (I will show the photos on the machine, those who know metal work will appreciate).
The tank is practically finished in terms of parts, I am currently struggling with the electronic and sound part and I will have the opportunity to ask for your help quickly for the sound banks of Tiger I
Otherwise, building the tank for almost twenty years now allowed me to go to Friedberg where I found a typical German restaurant to eat very good sausages, black German bread accompanied by beers. I visited the Munster tank museum and there was a nice demonstration of RC 1/6 and 1/4 tanks and 3 times in Munich (very pleasant city) to go to Mr Stehr where I was well received.

hello, unknown modelbuilder,
I like your model. You build very accurately. I think, the turret turns at the original speed.
You were very lucky with the museum in Saumur, that you met a very helpful person.
It is certainly very difficult to integrate a drive into a scale built model. You will have to make compromises at one point or another.
I am glad that you enjoyed the German food, that is not a matter of course.
Why don´t you translate you explanations into German?
Best wishes, Reinhard

Hallo Panzerfreunde,
